The Corner Shop by Downie North
Downie North
Residential
2026

In Sydney’s inner-west suburb of Camperdown, Downie North reworked a corner site into a mixed-use typology. A commercial tenancy anchors the ground level, with a private residence above.
Electrical is treated as an architectural layer rather than a secondary addition. ZETR is integrated at key junctions throughout the home, forming points of connection between spaces. Each outlet and switch is positioned in response to use and light, aligned to the movement of the sun and the way the house is occupied across the day. Power is placed only where it is required, maintaining functionality across living, working, and transitional areas.
Materials throughout reinforce this decision. Brick, concrete, and stone are left in their natural state. 13/ FLUSH with Matte Black and Carbon faceplates sit flush within these surfaces, complementing the fixtures and finishes without drawing attention away from the architecture.
